Software for Australian Veterinary Practices
Pet-owner portals, online booking, and integrations for Australian vet practices on RxWorks, ezyVet, Vetlinkpro and similar platforms.
The problem
What we usually see when a veterinary practice reaches out.
Vet practices run on practice management systems (RxWorks, ezyVet, Vetlinkpro, VetLink Pro Cloud) that handle clinical records, dispensing, and basic appointments well. The bespoke patient-facing layer — pet-owner portals, treatment plan visibility, online booking with species-specific logic, payment plans for higher-cost treatments, and recall workflows — usually doesn't exist or runs templated. The practices winning the market are the ones where the digital experience matches the standard of care.
The landscape
Where the gap lives.
Australian veterinary software splits along practice type. ezyVet leads in larger and corporate practices with strong API access. RxWorks has long-standing adoption in mid-market clinics. Vetlinkpro and similar platforms cover specific niches. Mobile and equine vets often use specialist software. Each handles clinical records and dispensing well; the patient-facing experience typically doesn't exist at production quality.
Where bespoke pays back: pet-owner portals where clients see vaccinations, treatment plans, and prescription history; online booking that handles species-specific logic (a feline appointment can't double-book with a large-dog appointment in the same room); treatment plan presentation that helps clients say yes to higher-cost interventions; payment plan integration for surgeries and chronic care; recall automation for vaccinations, dental work, and annual checks; and multi-clinic platforms for vet groups.
Our approach
How we think about it.
The PMS stays the source of truth; we build the pet-owner-facing and operational layers around it. Privacy considerations are slightly different from human medical (animals aren't protected under the Privacy Act in the same way) but client data still requires proper handling. Mobile-first design because pet owners check appointment details on phones, not desktops.
Why bespoke
Where off-the-shelf falls short.
-
PMS pet-owner portals (where they exist) are templated and don't match the practice's brand
-
Species-specific booking logic, room allocation, and equipment requirements rarely fit generic booking modules
-
Treatment plan presentation in most vet PMS systems is print-only — bespoke patient-facing presentation lifts acceptance for higher-cost treatments
-
Payment plans for surgeries, oncology, and chronic care need bespoke logic
-
Multi-clinic platforms for veterinary groups need shared infrastructure with clinic-level autonomy
-
Mobile vets and equine vets have field-service requirements PMS systems struggle to support

Indicative pricing
Most vet practice engagements fall between $20K and $80K. Single-feature builds at the lower end; multi-clinic platforms and mobile-vet field tools at the upper.
Real pricing is set after a scoping call. We give honest ranges up front rather than hiding behind "contact us" — the actual quote may land lower or higher depending on what discovery surfaces.
FAQs
The questions we usually get.
Do you replace ezyVet, RxWorks or Vetlinkpro?
No — those handle clinical records and dispensing reliably. We build the pet-owner-facing layer (portal, booking, treatment plan presentation) and operational automation (recalls, payment plans) the PMS doesn't cover.
Can you integrate online booking with our vet PMS?
Yes — most modern vet PMS platforms have APIs we work with. ezyVet has the strongest API; RxWorks and Vetlinkpro are workable. Species-specific logic, room allocation, and clinician availability are all part of what we typically build.
Can you build mobile field tools for mobile or equine vets?
Yes — mobile field tools with offline tolerance are part of what we do. Treatment recording, prescription dispensing, and payment collection in the field, syncing back to the PMS when reconnected.
Can the platform support multi-clinic vet groups?
Yes — multi-tenant platforms for vet groups (corporate or independent collectives) are part of what we do. Brand consistency across clinics with shared infrastructure underneath.
How long until launch?
Single-feature builds typically ship in 8–12 weeks. Multi-clinic platforms or mobile-vet field tools run 14–20 weeks with phased delivery.
